I'm a big Catherine Palmer fan.
I loved the setting in Africa. She totally describes the bush country and the struggles the people of Africa had to deal with were great. I wouldn't want to be where Lions could be a danger, but at the same time she makes it appealing. The fact that the author has lived there also helps, since you know what she's talking about.
She kinda gives you some mystery element when the sister goes missing.
Emma is so prim and proper in the beginnin I really liked this one. Emma is so prim and proper in the beginning to some extent. But you can see her independence rise when it comes to nursing. Sad about her family life, but it only made her into who she was. I love how she introduced him into the story. The description of the Rancher who just so happens to be from Texas!
My home state. His past seemed to make him into who he was too and in the end he realized the choices he made hurt those he loved the most and realizes he needs to make admends to his family he hasn't seen in forever. The struggles that Emma and Adam have to overcome make them stronger in the end even though lies try to tear them apart.
Emma is so set in her doing her call for God that I think she loses sight of what God really has in store for her and is willing to listen to the lies that are presented to her. She fails to realize that Adam's actions speak louder than the rumors. She could totally make series with it with all the characters she introduced. That would be interesting. The writing of this author was amazing. I was indeed surprised by her expert story and how she portrayed the characters. Emma was a bit of a baby in faith at the beginning, but by allowing herself to listen, she learned so much and matured. Being cautious was a good thing. Her judgement was immature, but the caution gave her time to see the truth.
I recommend this book to any Christian girl or woman. The only thing that I didn't care for at all was this: Even though it was a Historical, the char The writing of this author was amazing. The only thing that I didn't care for at all was this: Even though it was a Historical, the characters she stole from "Out of Africa" one of my favorites seemed to take away from her otherwise "individuality".

But I got very tired of interrupted and unfinished conversations and scenes. It was beyond frustrating to read, and then the story just ended. But like I said, it was a good storyline overall, and I did enjoy some of the characters. Jun 22, MariaFernanda rated it it was amazing. This was a very enchanting novel.
I truly appreciated the historical context. It was rich with historical insight and a darling plot. The characters were also very memorable.

Unlike some recent romantic novels I've read, this one also contained unique little surprises that were definitly good to read!! I recommend this to anyone up for light adventure, a little suspense, and of course, romance! Dec 28, Janis Kay rated it liked it Shelves: christian-fic.
Whisked away! I was whisked away just as Emma was with every page. I really enjoyed this book as Adam brings us on the journey of a lifetime: Some of the plotline was a bit overzealous, but all-in-all, I really liked it. Mar 07, Vickie McDonough rated it liked it. This was a pretty good book. It was set in Africa, but I felt several things that happened where a bit hard to believe.
Still, there's so great suspense, adventure, and a heart-tugging romance. Dec 11, Claudia Rosa rated it it was amazing Shelves: 5gold , to-read-again. I loved this book!
